Hi
My local Hyundai dealer has a load of 2006 Santa Fe 2.7 V6 5 door CDX petrol/automatics.
All with about 3 - 4,000 miles on the clock, for just less than £10,000.
Reserching around, these seem like a great bargain, but are they, and is there more room for a haggle?
Answer
Hi
The fair market average price is £12,000 - £13,000, so yes, this is a bargain!
The reason is likely to be that the 2.7 petrol is thirsty at 27 mpg... Plus he may have pre-registered them to hit a quarterly sales bonus or something and can now let them go at cost or even a slight loss.
I doubt there is much room left for a haggle - but it is always worth a go.
The key will be seeming only slightly interested.
Tell them that you prefer another car for sale - a different make - but are in two minds because the Hyundai is a bit newer for the same money. Tell them, "If only it were a bit cheaper, it would swing it......"
Matt
