I am going to view a Jaguar X-Type that has done 27,500 miles.
It was registered in July 2006 and has only had one service at 12,000 miles. It was due for a service at 25,000 according to Jaguar service schedule on their website. I can have the car serviced now but it has done over the recommended miles.
Will this affect the remaining warranty? What should I say to the dealer? Martyn.
Answer
If it’s at a Jag dealer, make sure they will do the service before you buy it and confirm (in writing) that the warranty is unaffected. They will almost certainly do that anyway, but do stipulate it.
Going 2,500 miles over the service interval isn’t the end of the world and provided it’s done now, the warranty should be fine.
