A NEW 163PS version of the popular 2.2-litre Jaguar XF diesel hits the streets in March aimed at giving fans of the big cat greater value.
Drawing on the strengths of the existing 190PS model – one of which recently crossed the USA averaging 62.9mpg, this less powerful version also means lower prices, the XF range now starting at £29,950.
But the new model still features an extensive range of standard equipment including suede-cloth and leather seats, a touch screen centrally mounted display, electronic climate control and an advanced eight-speed gearbox complete with automatic Stop-Start.
The XF 2.2D 163PS model can accelerate from 0-62mph in 9.8 seconds and on to a maximum speed of 130 mph. On the combined cycle it can achieve 52.3 mpg and it emits 149g/km of CO2.
Since the XF’s launch in 2008 the car has been subject to a relentless programme of engineering and aesthetic enhancements, the line-up ranging from the upcoming 163PS model to the fiery XFR with its supercharged 5.0-litre V8 engine producing 510PS.
