JAGUAR has announced a special version of its XK sports model to celebrate its 60th anniversary but is keeping details under wraps until its appearance at the British Motor Show which opens to the public on July 23.
It was in 1948 that the new and highly advanced XK engine made its debut in the XK120 sports car.
Now the company is introducing a special version of the current XK just for the UK market and is calling it the XK60.
No details are being released yet although the changes are likely to be cosmetic.
It will line up alongside the recently introduced XKR-S capable of accelerating to 60mph in 4.9 seconds with a maximum speed extended to a limited 175mph.
This makes it the fastest Jaguar since the XJ220 supercar and is almost as exclusive with just 50 to be made for the UK and each one already sold.
Also on show will be the new Jaguar XF, for which there are currently 7,000 UK orders and more than 20,000 world-wide.
