If you really want a Land Rover but can’t afford a Freelander 2 or Discovery, check the price pages for the Freelander Mark 1. Now an overlooked model, the Freelander’s prices are incredibly soft compared to Land Rover’s newer premium models. The big petrol powered versions are now as little as £2,000 or £3,000. But the sensible purchases are the 2006 year cars with full service histories and average mileage of around 40,000.
