Hi
I recently purchased a Freelander 2 from a main dealer. I was told that it had a full service history. On picking it up, I was told that there was an admin error and that the first service had never been stamped in the book. I was told to leave it the book with with them. After 3 weeks I chased and was told that they couldnt trace the first service.
The Manager offered me £25 and told me that it was never advertised with FSH. Fortunately, I kept the printed details which clearly stated Full Service History. On sending them this the Manager then came back and said that they had 2 similar cars come in at the same time and that we were told it might not have a FSH.
We werent at any point led to believe it had anything other than a FSH. Any advice on where I stand and my next action please?

Hi Dave,
As you will see in our dispute advice section, you can demand your money back.
If you do that they will probably offer a lot more than the paltry £25.
What is service history worth? It's hard to say. The service is £150-£300.... but the impact on reliability is huge.
You could argue that in order to achieve the same peace of mind, you will now need an extended car warranty.
