What to look for:

Test drive the car. As you pull away smartly from a standstill, check for hesitancy and stuttering from the engine.

What it means:

This issue is likely to be caused by problems with the EGR valves in the engine. These valves regulate engine temperature via exhaust gasses and can get stuck open. They will need to be replaced if this fault occurs.

What to do

If you find this fault and the car is under warranty (3 years) then Land Rover may repair the car for free. Otherwise try to negotiate a discount of £600 off of the price of the car.
