THE psychedelic shades of the sixties are set to make a colourful comeback in the shape of a new special edition version of the Lotus Elise.
Based on the 134bhp Elise S, the Club Racer special edition comes with a choice of exclusive colour schemes and a bespoke interior.
Lotus has taken four of the classic colour schemes used on the company's sports cars in the 1960s - buyers will be offered a choice of Elite Yellow, Carbon Grey, Sky Blue or Old English White.
Inside, the seats are clad with lightweight microfibre comfort pads which leave the body coloured seat shell partly exposed.
The exterior body colour theme is carried over to the transmission tunnel and combined with silver and black paint highlights while other exclusive interior design features include an anthracite anodised gear knob and handbrake sleeve, a Club Racer (CR) logo hand embroidered on the seat headrest and unique anodized aluminium flooring in the driver's and passenger's footwell.
The lightweight six spoke alloy wheels, shod with bespoke Yokohama AD07 LTS tyres, are also anthracite anodized.
The Club Racer goes on sale on September 15 priced at £26,662 on the road.
