A SHARPER, more aggressive style will be hallmarks of the next generation Mazda6, due to make its world debut at next month’s Moscow Motor Show.
And the Japanese brand’s flagship model will be the second, following this year’s launch of the CX-5 crossover, to feature its range of SKYACTIV technologies – a a completely fresh take on everything from engines and gearboxes to dynamics and fittings.
It will also be the second Mazda range based on the new KODO ‘Soul of Motion’ design language, and the first Mazda equipped with the company’s new brake energy regeneration system, i-ELOOP.
Full profile pictures of the ‘6’ have yet to be released but from the front and rear it’s clear that the new car will be very close to the Takeri concept displayed at last year’s Tokyo show.
The model to be exhibited in Moscow is a Russian-spec saloon equipped with a direct-injection SKYACTIV-G 2.0-litre petrol engine and six-speed SKYACTIV-Drive automatic transmission.
Sales of the new Mazda6 are due to start next year.
