THE new Mazda CX-7 will be seen for the first time at next month's Frankfurt motorshow.
Adopting the familiar family identity created by the Mazda3 and Mazda6 models, there will be a high-output diesel option for the first time in the guise of a 2.2-litre turbocharged oil-burner.
This engine is so efficient that it will comply with the stringent Euro Stage V regulations for emissions because it achieves such low CO2 outputs and has excellent economy.
One of its features is that it generates maximum power and torque at extremely low engine revs, which makes it especially suited to towing.
It also boasts a Selective Catalytic Reduction system, which reduces NOx emissions by 40 percent, making it the first Japanese vehicle of its type.
Mazda will also be showcasing a new stop/start system and a vehicle powered by a new rotary hydrogen propulsion system.
