THERE’S a new look on the way for Mazda’s iconic MX-5 with upgraded models already rolling off the production line in Hiroshima and set to be shipped to the UK later this year.
The 2013 versions of the Roadster Coupe and the classic soft-top will come with enhanced safety features and refined driving attributes, together with exterior and interior improvements, says the company.
Exterior changes include a new, more aggressive front bumper design that also improves aerodynamic performance and Mazda’s latest ‘active-bonnet’ technology is fitted to provide improved pedestrian safety. Inside, the panel décor and matching steering wheel spokes have been upgraded for an improved cabin ambience.
Under the skin, Mazda’s engineers have improved the accelerator pedal actuation while the characteristics of the vacuum brake-booster have been revised to optimise brake return control.
Taken together, says Mazda, these two new upgrades make braking more controllable and acceleration after braking both smoother and faster.
