Question

I want to part ex my petrol VW Passat estate for a newer family car. We want a diesel saloon or hatchback but with enough leg room to accommodate my husband who is 6ft 5 in.

We also want enough room in rear for adults too - we have only located bmw 5 series so far-is there anything else?

Answer

You should consider the new Mondeo, the Mercedes E-class, the Vauxhall Vectra II but skip the Renault Laguna and Peugeot 407 as they won't give the head room you want.

Be careful that you don't give your car away by part exchanging it rather than selling privately...
