ANOTHER high performance model will be joining the Mercedes stable this summer in the shape of an AMG version of the still-to-be launched C-Class Coupe.
The potent C 63 AMG coupe will be arriving around the same time as the company will be releasing its revised C-Class AMG saloon.
Like the saloon, the coupe will be powered by a 6.3-litre V8 giving it class leading performance of 0 to 60mph in 4.5 seconds with a top speed limited to 155mph.
Mercedes says the 457bhp coupe can manage an average of 23.5mpg with CO2 emissions of 280g/km.
The coupe will also be available with an AMG performance pack which uses engineering first seen on the SLS AMG gullwing supercar including a lightweight crankshaft.
The performance pack increases the engine output to 487bhp, shaving a tenth of a second off the 0 to 60 time.
The C-Class coupe made its debut earlier this month at the Geneva Motor Show and is due on sale in a few months time.
Prices are still to be announced but it is likely the AMG coupe will be in the region of £55,000.
