Question

I am considering purchasing a used MG TF private sale. It is registered in 2002 and has done 33,000 miles.

It has had a new head gasket fitted two years ago and apart from some minor bodywork scratches performs well. Is the head gasket issue to be concerned over as I am told by a local dealer that once replaced all should be well.

Answer

Hi

As you will see in this car's buyers/fault check guide, head gasket is common. Once repaired though the car will be as good as new.

That is about average mileage for the car too - if its a 1.8 engine. Use our price guide to check.
