Mitsubishi Colt 1.1 Attivo - Mitsubishi Colt Car Review

THE supermini market is certainly a competitive one with everyone wanting a slice of the action and the Mitsubishi Colt slots nicely into that niche.

It's compact, easy to handle and, despite its size, still feels roomy inside and has plenty of boot space for the weekly shop.

For just £8,249 there are bundles of top-notch specification features including leather trims on the steering wheel and gear knob, plus colour-keyed bumper protectors, mirrors, handles and side mouldings. There are also lots of little cubbyholes and cup holders throughout.

And despite just 74bhp it is really quite nippy with an official 0-62 time of 12.9 seconds although it seems faster. However, get past 62mph and you could boil an egg before 70 is reached even with the accelerator pedal totally floored.

And despite a great sound system I did find the Colt a little on the noisy side.

But this is not the sort of car I would want to spend hours every day in traipsing up and down a motorway - it is a car for in and around town, easy to handle, easy to park and easy on the pocket!

Safety features highly and the Colt comes equipped with an Anti-locking Braking System with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution, remote central locking, driver and passenger airbags and an engine immobiliser to name just a few features.

The layout of the dashboard is easy on the eye with all controls and dials situated for convenience and ease of use. The windscreen is very large offering excellent visibility, but unfortunately this in impaired by the huge and bulky front pillars, especially when looking right.

But on the whole, the Colt is a great little car for buzzing around town.
