MITSUBISHI has announced it is to hold its list prices until the end of March, plus it's not adding on the 2.5 per cent increase in VAT until then.

On top of that Mitsubishi is offering a special deal on its small family car Lancer hatchback range which includes five years servicing and breakdown cover, four years zero percent finance, three years warranty and two years road tax.

For example the high specification Lancer 1.5 GS2 five-door, costing £14,704, comes with a five-star EuroNCAP crash test rating, metallic paint, 16in alloys, side, curtain and driver's knee airbag ; Bluetooth, air conditioning, front fog lights, steering wheel audio and Bluetooth controls, iPod input, alarm, and an excellent fuel consumption of 44mpg.

The Mitsubishi Grandis seven-seater MPV has proved a big success for the Japanese company and this spacious and stylish motor is offers versatile use to owners. Prices for the diesel-powered motor start at £19,729 for the 2.0 DI-D Equippe five-door.

The Mitsubishi Shogun is a tried and tested 4x4 with go-anywhere capability and anyone who owns one will be have reaped the benefit of its robust build and reliability during the horrendous weather at the beginning of the year.

Powered by a 3.2-litre diesel engine the Shogun seats up to seven and even the base priced Equippe three-door at £23,959 is well equipped and good value for money in the 4x4 sector.

For those who want the ultimate in pace and performance this spring, Mitsubishi also provides the answer in the shape of the fantastic Evo saloon.

The top-range Evo 2.0T FQ-400 has a 0-62mph time of just 4.1 seconds and an electronically limited top speed of 155mph. It will set you back £51,959. Even the entry level Evo 2.0T FQ-300 GS, at £29,959, will almost match its big brother for speed and excitement.
