I have just bought a 2nd hand Almera Esteem 1999 1.4 from a garage which was advertised as 'excellent condition' leaving aside some minor faults, I have found the fuel consumption to be high, less than 90 miles for £15 of fuel. The ave figure I have seen for this car is 40mpg and it's nowhere near that, should I go back to the garage? Thanks
Answer
Hi
Yes you should go back to the garage.
If they do not give you satisfactory service, then look at our garage dispute pages:http://www.usedcarexpert.co.uk/page.aspx?numPage=15
We list the numbers for SMMT and Consumer Direct. Consumer Direct are particularly helpful - they can even give you letter templates to send to the garage which set out your legal rights and so really help to sort things out
