Nothing square about Nissan Cube - Nissan Cube Car Review

Review

UP to now, Nissan's quirky Cube was for Japan-only but with the launch of the third generation model it is spreading its wings.

Word has it that this very niche hatch will be on sale in Britain towards the end of the year with a price tag of around £13,000.

The first very square Cube was rarely seen outside Japan and then only at motor shows but the second generation model had added style and attracted far more attention around the world.

News and pictures spread through websites and Nissan was put under some pressure to sell it in other countries.

Like previous versions, the new Cube is based on the Note/Micra platform, but little more than that is yet known.

Nissan has said it will have either 1.6-litre petrol or 1.5-litre turbo diesel engines when it gets here but has given away little more.

Looking at the Note, the likelihood is that both engines will deliver about 100bhp and ride and handling should be well up to the competition.

Interior

Little is yet known about the interior but expect it to be funky and unusual for our market, to appeal to those seeking something completely different in a small car.

The Mark II model was even available with CVT automatic and four wheel drive but it's not known if these will be offered here.
