NISSAN is turning on the style with a new version of the Micra city car called Activ which comes complete with a red.-lined glovebox created by its London-based Colour Studio.
It is just one unusual feature adorning the Activ, which gets almost £1,000-worth of additional equipment while costing £500 less than the Initia model on which it is based.
The glovebox is part of a no-cost interior trim option. The car also features sportswear-derived red and grey two-tone upholstery with a charcoal option and a black-lined glovebox borrowed from the Micra Sport also being available.
The Activ takes the Sport's equipment level except for the substitution of 15-inch alloys for the Sport's 16-inch wheels.
Prices start from £8,495 and the Activ is available with a choice of three engines - 1.2 and 1.4-litre petrol and a 1.5dCi diesel.
It is the 1.2-litre three-door which is the entry level model at £8,495. Moving up to the 1.4-litre petrol will add £300 or £1,100 for the diesel. Five door models are £650 more than the three-door verisons.
Inside the Activ boasts a leather-rimmed steering wheel with controls for the trip computer and six-speaker CD/radio, plus there is air conditioning, electric door mirrors and windows, four airbags and central locking with an anti-hijack feature.
