Question

Hi

I have been offered a Peugeot 206 diesel, for £1500, it has done 115,000 miles and was registered in 2004, 54 is on the plate. Which could be great because your site shows a price of £2,490.

How much is it worth?

Thanks, Chris

Answer

Hi Chris,

Small car values have not dropped as much as the rest of the market - and our web prices reflect any drops because they are live

There are hundreds of Peugeot 206s on the market, including scores from 2004. There are 1.4, 1.6 and 2.0 HDi diesel engines and they all command similar money on the used car market.

With average mileage of 55,000, they are around £4,000. Some unscrupulous sellers are trying to sell cars with 97,000 or more miles on the clock at these prices too!

So our value of £2,490 seems like a fair reflection of the current market prices.

But there are two main reasons why your seller may have dropped their price:

  1. With so many on the market to choose from, a lot of people won't be interested in something that has done so many miles
  2. There may be something wrong with the car and he wants rid - so check it over with one of our guides and get a history/data check

Best of luck,

Matt
