PEUGEOT is planning to add extra verve to one of the most popular models it produces next year.
Two new motors will become available in the Verve range of three and five-door supermini hatchback 207 models from January.
Currently available with 1.4-litre, 75bhp petrol and 70bhp, 1.4-litre diesel engines, the Verve is to be offered with the option of a new 1.4-litre petrol unit producing 95bhp and a 90bhp 1.6-litre diesel engine.
Priced from £12,330, the cars will also come with a wider choice of colours thanks to the introduction of new shade of grey and red.
Latest versions of the car are also fitted with Peugeot's connect USB with Bluetooth, which allows compatible mobile phones to be paired with the car. Once paired, phones can be operated via the remote controls on the steering wheel.
The system also includes a USB connection box to allow MP3 or iPod players to be operated via the radio controls.
In a bid to maximise fuel efficiency, a gear-shift indicator is also fitted to the 75bhp version of the car to help the driver adopt a more economical driving style by indicating the optimal gear for the lowest fuel consumption.
