PEUGEOT has officially unveiled its new 308 SW model, which will replace the current 307 SW model here in June.
Since its arrival in the UK the 307 SW has attracted more than 40,000 buyers.
In the case of the new 308 SW, which will be seen at the Geneva motor show for the first time next month, the panoramic glass roof is more than a quarter larger and extends beyond the heads of the second row passengers.
The rear seats in the second row are individual and to enable seven occupants to be carried, two occasional rear seats can be fitted in the third row.
Access to the rear load area is either via the rear tailgate or the opening rear tailgate glass.
With the second row of seats in place there is 674 litres of cargo space and with them removed it increases to more than 2,000 litres.
There will be a choice of 1.4-litre and 1.6-litre petrol engines with varying power outputs plus diesel engines of 1.4, 1.6 and 2.0-litres with manual and automatic options.
Precise specifications and prices for the UK market will be announced in early summer when the order book opens.
