Hi, I am looking at purchasing a used RENAULT ESPACE RT TURBO DIESEL, for the price of £320. It has no MOT or tax but has history (mots and other paperwork) dating back to 1998.
It has only 5 seats, I was told this was the configuration it came in, although it has belts for the other two seats if they were fitted. It appears in reasonable condition for its age, has less than average mileage and the engine appears to be in reasonable condition with no obvious signs of problems.
Can you tell if this is a good buy for a budget concious family or a complete no no?

That kind of money suggests this is a 1990 year car?
If it is low mileage, good condition and so on, I have to wonder why the seller has not MOT'd it first?
Only buy it if they MOT it first or you will regret it.
The Renautl electronics and Turbos are problems waiting to happen. If you have a year of MOT, then for this money its worth the risk. Otherwise its not.
