Question

I have Renault Clio 06 1.4 5 door expression FRSH, 20k on the clock. 1 previous owner in excellent condition.

Dealers are offering me £4,500 and privately it's booked at over 5K. I've had it for sale now for £5299 and had no interest.

Why could this be?

Hi Paul

In a nutshell, you are asking £5,299 for a car that people can buy at a dealer for similar money.

But they will get the warm fuzzy feeling from a dealer that if the car turns out to be a dog they can return and shout the odds and hopefully get it fixed.

You need to drop your price. The dealer offer is quite good - but you don't need to go THAT far.

£4,999 should do it - aim to be between our BEST and FAIR prices. If in a rush go nearer BEST, if not, wait it out with a price nearer FAIR.
