Clutch slip | Renault Laguna News & FAQs

Q&A

Question

Is the clutch, cable or hydrualicly operated?

Under hard acceleration in a high gear (4) the clutch appears to slip from 2000rpm to 3000rpm then it seem's to bite again and the rev's drop back to the speed the car is going. The slip is only noticeable on an incline or if the car is loaded.

Answer

They are hydraulic and so expensive and complicated to fix. You’ve just done the classic test for a worn out clutch – and proved that it’s worn out. Get it changed.
