RENAULT is revving up to reveal its new Laguna GT for the first time at next month's Geneva Motor Show.
The sporty newcomer will be on offer in hatchback and estate formats, with the latter being somewhat repetitively referred to as Sport Tourer GT.
There will be a choice of petrol and diesel engines with outputs of 205bhp and 180bhp from the two-litre turbocharged units.
Also making a return will be the use of four wheel steering, which Renault calls Active Drive and was all the rage a couple of decades ago.
Visually the Laguna GT differs from its lesser stablemates thanks to its 18-inch alloys, front splitter with air intakes to the sides, darkened rear light glass, leather and alcantara upholstery, aluminium for the gear knob and pedals plus a sports steering wheel.
Renault says that the cars are destined to reach UK showrooms in April, nearer which time prices will be announced.
