Question

Having a problem starting my Scenic.

I have all dashboard lights but when I turn the key nothing happens. The garage has replaced the starter motor which cured problem for a day but next day same problem occurred! But now dash lights are flashing and klicking and the car will not bump start.

Please help, thanks.

Answer

OK, the first thing to change is your garage.

I have no hesitation as announcing them as completely incompetent. Your problem is in fact a flat battery. This can be the battery itself, or the current being drained when you think everything is turned off (see previous question) or a fault alternator failing to re-charge it.

Go and get a grown-up mechanic!
