SEAT has made its Alhambra people-carrier safer and more powerful at no extra cost.
A new seat fixing makes the rear seats more secure and curtain air bags are now fitted as standard in addition to front and side air bags.
The 1.9-litre 130bhp diesel engine is replaced by the two-litre 140bhp unit that is already used elsewhere in the SEAT range. It lines up alongside another diesel option, the 1.9-litre 115bhp unit and lifts the Alhambra's top speed to 120mph with a 0-60mph acceleration time of just over 12 seconds and economy of 40mpg.
Despite gaining the new engine and air bags, prices stay the same at £21,120 for the Stylance versions, with all Alhambras having as standard a CD player, climate control, six-speed manual gearbox, remote central locking, electric mirrors and four electric windows.
