SEAT is bringing sporty fun to the family hatchback market with the launch of the Altea FR.
Offered initially with a powerful TDI diesel engine producing 170 bhp, there is a 200 bhp petrol engined version due to arrive next month.
Priced from £17,795, the new Altea will rival the likes of the Ford Focus C-MAX and Peugeot 307.
Standard specification on the SEAT includes dual zone climate control, six airbags, electronic stability programme, sports suspension and steering wheel-mounted audio controls.
The diesel is also fitted with a particulate filter to keep emissions low at 167g/km while average fuel consumption is said to be 45.6mpg.
The Altea FR also comes with restyled bumpers, twin chrome exhaust pipes, 17-inch alloy wheels and silver-painted door mirrors.
