THE second generation of Skoda’s eco-friendly GreenLine range will underpin the Czech company’s presence at the upcoming Paris Motor Show.

And for two models in particular – the Yeti crossover and Superb estate – the arrival of eco technology means a pair of world premieres.

Some eight versions cover the new Skoda GreenLine range, which include features like a start-stop system and braking energy recuperation.

The 1.6 TDI CR 105bhp engine in the Octavia, Yeti and Superb, along with the 1.2 TDI CR 75bhp unit in the Fabia and Roomster, use the latest technology to make them as economical as possible, each using diesel particulate filters.,

For instance, the Fabia GreenLine and its estate sibling offer combined fuel consumption of  83.1mpg with CO2 emissions of 89g/km, while compact MPV the Roomster boasts consumption of 67.3mpg - a record in its category – and emissions of 109g/km.

The Octavia GreenLine will be available as both a hatchback and estate, the former with combined fuel consumption of 74.3 mpg and CO2 emissions of 99g/km. The Estate achieves 67.3mpg with CO2 at 109g/km.

And the Yeti GreenLine proves that a crossover vehicle can be economical, with combined fuel consumption of 61.4 mpg (119g/km of CO2).

GreenLine versions are also offered on the range-topping Skoda Superb and Superb Estate – both with fuel figures of 64.2mpg and CO2 at 114g/km.
