SKODA is launching a special edition of its spirited Fabia vRS model to celebrate the Czech company’s motorsport success during 2010.
The Fabia S2000 helped the brand claim the Intercontinental Rally Challenge constructors’ title this season and the new limited edition vRS S2000 will commemorate that triumph.
Fitted with a 1.4-litre TSI 180bhp turbocharged and supercharged engine, the special edition car can accelerate to 62mph in 7.3 seconds and boasts a top speed of 139mph.
The engine is mated to a seven-speed DSG twin-clutch gearbox which can operate in two modes – fully automated and manual Tiptronic.
Offered in Rallye Green, with a white roof, white 17-inch Gigaro alloy wheels and race livery – similar to those which adorn the IRC championship winning Fabia S2000 – production will be limited to 200 vehicles, with 20 of them up for grabs in the UK.
Skoda took part in 11 of this year's 12 IRC events, celebrating victory at seven of them and making the podium a further 17 times.
The Fabia vRS S2000 arrives in the UK in January and prices will be announced shortly.
