THE Skoda Fabia Greenline is a special edition of the standard car with extra green credentials.
But the extra cost over other models in the range actually doesn't make much sense unless you want to be the greenest of the green.
The Fabia is well built, fairly refined and has long been one of the best in the class.
Like the others in the range, the Greenline is easy to drive and handles nimbly in town and out on the open road as well as giving a very comfortable ride.
The company has a very good reputation for reliability and quality and there is excellent interior space for a car in the supermini class plus an excellent easily adjusted driving position.
Diesels always make the best load luggers and the Skoda is powered by a special version of the unrefined VW group 1.4 three cylinder.
It's noisy most of the time, but does deliver good performance along with its low emissions.
Interior
The Fabia holds its value well helping make it a good buy and the estate has excellent interior space plus a large boot.
It comes with aircon, but it's always better to keep it off for economy, electric mirrors and windows, seat height adjustment and steering reach and rake adjustment. It also has alloys, central locking and plenty of airbags.
