BUY A new Skoda and your old car could be worth £3,500.

In a move to support the recent extension of the Government's new-cars-for-old incentive, scrappage customers are being offered a £3,500 trade-in allowance against the high-economy version of the Czech firm's Octavia.

With a 1.6-litre TDI motor developing 105bhp, the five-speed CR model boasts low tailpipe emissions of 119g/km and costs from £14,965.

Skoda has also announced that it will continue its no-VAT offer on all Fabia, Octavia and Roomster models on orders taken up to the end of January.
