ENGINEERS from Toyota’s British car production site are lending a hand as the Japanese firm’s dealers work to solve recall issues as soon as possible.
And 35 trainers from the Burnaston factory near Derby have made sure that more than 1,100 technicians in the network are fully qualified to deal with the accelerator pedal problem and adjustments to braking system software on the Prius.
‘Thanks to their efforts, everyone was fully trained in just 48 hours. Our employees have given us exceptional support,’ said a spokesman.
Meanwhile, the beleaguered car firm has announced one year’s free insurance on its Aygo city car range.
Cars ordered before the end of March will qualify for the offer, which is additional to a £500 saving on the list price.
‘There is no need for owners to have a no-claims bonus to qualify for the deal, but they must be aged 21 or older. The insurance comes with free no-claims discount protection and the benefit of a double no-claims bonus for any owner who chooses to renew cover after a year - subject of course to no claims having been made,’ said the spokesman.
