Question

I am looking to change my 8 year old Toyota Yaris for a slightly more substantial car which is cheap to insure, has good economy and performs well in safety tests. Am looking to spend around £5,500.

Any suggestions?

Answer

So Adam, you want to eat Linda’s cake and have your own?

The Renault Clio 1.2 is a 5 star N-Cap rated car in insurance group 1 with combined MPG of 48. The 1.5 dCi (which is a very good engine) sits in insurance group 3 but gives you 64.2 combined mpg.

Plus, there are always fantastic deals to be had on Renautls, via brokers, dealers and Renault To Go (see the Renault website).
