City cars are famous for carrying a premium at all ages. However, there are a number of city cars that have heavy depreciation.
As always it pays consumers back in savings if they study the depreciation pattern of the specific variation of car they want. For example a 4 year old Ford Ka Luxury loses a great deal, but by the time it is a 7 year old car, most of the value has already been lost. So it becomes a bargain buy that won’t lose anymore.
Equally some cars lose very little one year, only to lose a massive chunk the next year. This is triggered by any number of factors. One obvious factor is a competing model becoming affordable or more available in one year, when it wasn’t in another.
