VAUXHALL is celebrating spring in the air courtesy of an ice cool special edition with red hot performance.
The latest member of the VXR range is badged the Arctic Edition and at £23,595 costs £720 more than the standard Astra VXR.
Each of the 500 Arctic Editions available are painted in Olympic White with a contrasting black painted roof, mirror covers, front V-grille and tailgate trim for a unique appearance.
Heated leather Recaro front seats, tinted glass and black 19-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels all now form part of the Astra VXR Arctic Edition’s armoury as every model gets £1,965 worth of options included in the price.
And for the first time on a VXR, customers can also specify their Arctic Edition with the Panoramic Windscreen, a £920 option that offers a screen that extends back over the front seats with heat-absorbing glass A full-length shading system with pull-out sun blinds is also included.
With 240PS of power on tap the model can accelerate from 0-60mph in 6.2 seconds and on to a top speed of 152mph. Lowered and uprated VXR sports suspension, ultra-low profile tyres and 321mm front ventilated brakes discs complete the Arctic Edition’s dynamic package.
Meanwhile, Vauxhall is offering customers a new Personal Contract Hire scheme, whereby buyers can take advantage of a low initial outlay followed by affordable monthly payments.
A new 2010 Corsa SXi is available through the scheme for £189 per month, with an initial rental of £567. The agreement includes free metallic paint, VED and Vauxhall Breakdown Assistance for its duration.
