A PRICE war is looming with Vauxhall introducing a new range of models slashing up to £3,600 off current prices.
The company is launching a new range of Expression and ES models which cost significantly less than the current base models in the Corsa, Astra, Insignia and Zafira ranges.
The cheapest Corsa is now £9,995 – more than £1,000 less than current entry level model and £1,500 less than its great rival, the Ford Fiesta.
Astra prices now start £2,000 less at £13,995 while the Insignia will cost from £17,120 which is £1,700 lower.
The greatest difference is with the Zafira MPV in the new Expression trim which is £3,675 cheaper at £14,995.
“With the government’s Scrappage Scheme almost finished, we recognise that our customers will still be looking for the best offers around on new cars,” said Andy Gilson, Vauxhall’s marketing director.
Most of the new models have slightly less trim than the current entry level cars although the new Insignia ES – which replaces the current S model – is better equipped with 17-inch wheels and a CD player with MP3 format.
The Zafira Expression does not have roof rails and air conditioning compared with the current Life model.
