So the Scrappage scheme has been a success in encouraging the retired to scrap their old cars for smaller, greener run-arounds. Their £2,000 saving must have felt like the best deal they have ever had on a car. But of course, if you look at 2 year old cars, while you have 1 year less warranty, you can make similar or better savings. Here are the pick of the bunch:

Vauxhall Corsa

One of the best looking small cars on the market. Although it is actually quite big, which will be an issue for some in town car parks. Excellent build quality. Huge variety of specifications and equipment.

Everyone loves the badge and the image. There are plenty of engine options and a very comfortable ride. Other manufactures have more fun drives and equipment and they cost less.
