Question

hi

The orange engine light started to come on when I accelerated. I took my foot of gas and it went away. I then drove home and went to start in morning.

Nothing. So I took off the battery to recharge, fitted all lights . Everything working but nothing when I turn ignition, bought new starter motor, fitted this, still nothing. Please could you advise,

Thanks

Thomas

Answer

The light coming on and the car not starting may be unrelated. Frontera alarm/immobiliser systems seem to give lots of problems and if the immobiliser isn’t disarming, you will get nothing happening, so check that first. If the immobiliser isn’t the problem, a bit of basic fault finding is needed. Power getting to the starter solenoid should be the first check.
