VAUXHALL has introduced a new version of its Zafira, which the company believes will become the UK's favourite family people-carrier.
It uses a new 1.8-litre petrol engine that will gradually be introduced to virtually every model in the Vauxhall range.
One of the most powerful engines of its size, it is light yet strong and offers advantages in terms of performance and economy.
The power output is 140bhp, which is available from very low engine revs right up to the red line, which means that little gearchanging is necessary.
Although moist Zafiras are bought privately by families, a growing number are company cars and this new version should have even more appeal to business users thanks to its low CO2 figure of 187g/km which reduces the tax liability.
The new engine is available in Life, Club, Design, SRi and Special Edition Active versions of the Zafira with prices starting at £15,695.
