Hi There,
I have fallen in love with a Beetle Convertible but I am a bit concerned about the mileage! It is a 2003/03 reg and has done 79,000 miles and has 11 months MOT and part service history. It is on sale for £5,850. Do you think this is a fair price and am I worrying too much about the mileage? It's just that a lot of people are putting me off, saying that high mileage can affect the 'wear and tear' of a car but I really want/love it. I am not really clued up on used cars as I've always bought new Fords!
Many Thanks
Vikki
Answer
Hello Vikki
The average mileage for a 03’ reg beetle is only 47,000 so the car is over average mileage by quite some way. Also, on a car like the Beetle Cabriolet with it’s complex soft top, service history is essential so I would suggest holding out for a car that has the full history. In particular make sure the car has had its cam belt service carried out, as this can be expensive. With the budget you have you should be able to get a 1.6 petrol car with a full service history including cam belt with less than 70,000 on the clock.
Good luck with your search!
Tom
