Dear Sir/Madam,
I recently purchased a used Golf from a Volkswagen franchise. This was a replacement for a previous car from the same franchise that turned out to be a lemon.
At the time of the most recent purchase I asked if any work had been carried out on the vehicle and if so I would like to see evidence/receipts for that work. They said no work had been carried out by them and no evidence existed.
I took the car back twice in 30 days due to a vibration fault only to discover that 4 separate receipts existed for warranty work done on the vehicle by them relating to vibration/rattling issues.
Had I known this when I requested the info I would not have made the purchase of that particular vehicle.
Do you think this counts as misrepresentation and grounds for rescinding the contract? Many thanks for any consideration.

Answer
Dear Chris,
I am sorry to hear you have had so many problems. Volkswagen Head Office would be horrified to hear that you have had such bad customer care. We will report it to them.
Under Volkswagen's used approved scheme, you can take the car back if during the first 30-days/1,000 miles of ownership you are unhappy with your purchase.
Under Sale of Goods Act 1979 you can also reject the goods and get a refund of the purchase price, as explained in our disputes section.
Best of luck,
Matt
