VOLKSWAGEN has revealed its forthcoming new Touran model, which will feature an amazing automatic parking system.
It is expected to be offered on models about six months after the latest Touran is introduced early next year.
To be shown for the first time at this month’s Paris Motor Show, the new Touran midi-MPV is based on the Golf hatchback.
Styling include a distinctive new radiator grille and headlamps similar to those of the new Eos coupe cabriolet.
The Touran will pioneer Volkswagen’s new parking system which steers the vehicle into spaces itself.
All the driver has to do is line it up with the help of audio and visual displays and the vehicle will do the rest.
As soon as reverse gear is engaged the vehicle is ready to steer itself into the space, with the driver simply operating the accelerator and brake pedals.
There will be half a dozen engine choices, including four diesels, plus three trim levels of S, SE and Sport. Prices are still to be announced.
