VOLVO has released the new prices of its revised XC90 range, which now start at £32,820 in comparison to £31,235 previously.
Moving upmarket in the XC90 line up there is a new high of £54,000, which is almost £1,000 more than the top price of the current range.
The price increases coincide with several changes to the XC90 SUV range for 2006, which will reach showrooms in July.
In addition to some cosmetic alterations inside and out to differentiate the new range from the current vehicles, there are new engines and equipment upgrades.
Exterior changes include a new grille, bumpers, rear lights, door mirrors with side indicators, colour-coded side trim mouldings and door handles.
Inside there are new materials and trim, including soft leather upholstery with perforated inlays and contrasting stitching, a revised centre console with a new display plus a new audio system with MP3/WMA compatibility and an i-Pod connection.
The new engines are a 315bhp V8 and a six-cylinder 3.2-litre generating 238bhp, while the 2.5T and T6 engines are deleted.
There is an upgraded satellite navigation that now uses a hard disc instead of a DVD for a faster response and it can handle more information.
Also included for 2006 are a reversing camera and active bi-xenon headlights which swivel 15 degrees in both directions to give the driver a better view of the road ahead.
The new range will be seen for the first time in the UK at the British International Motor Show in July.
