I am thinking about buying a MG ZT car. Given the fact that there are no dealers or manufacturers warranty, what would your advice be? There are several cheap examples on the market now for what seems like a good car, but are parts readily available and are servicing centres easy to find?

Answer
This is a good spot, Douglas. As you say, there are plenty on the market.
The Rover parts arm was sold off years ago and still trades so parts are readily available. They are simple to service, so that’s not a problem for any garage.
Check it thoroughly with a buyers guide (http://www.usedcarexpert.co.uk/cars.aspx?numModel=304) and shop around. Once you know you have a good example, at a good price, buy a private warranty. There are cheaper providers, but for maximum cover try Warranty Direct.
