Car with low access at rear

Q&A

Question

I need a car with a low boot, (possibly an estate) that I can use to transport my dog. At the moment I have a 1997 Toyota Rav 4 but it needs replacing.

I would be grateful for any advice. At the moment I am thinking of a Vauxhall Astra or Renault Megane. Money is not the primary facor but I expect to pay £4000-7000.

Answer

Hi

Well, hatch backs may not be best for dog access. Estates or more modern family formats may be better.

Cars like that with low lips, going to a flat boot area include: Nissan Qashqai, Volvo V40, Ford Focus estate and the equivalents.

Sports suspension on some of these cars, will lower the overall boot access.

Keywords: boot access, low boot, transporting dogs
